Premier League Betting: Salah favourite for Golden Boot ahead of Aguero going into final day

Sergio Aguero will be hoping to make a late push for the Premier League Golden Boot when Manchester City travel south to Brighton on Sunday.

The Argentine has 20 goals this season, making him just the second player to reach that milestone in five consecutive seasons, but trails Mohamed Salah by two strikes heading into the final day.

William Hill offer Aguero at industry-best price of 4/1 (5.0) to claim the individual award and having scored in each of his two previous matches against Brighton the City frontman will certainly fancy his chances of closing in on the leader.

It is worth noting that dead heat rules do apply if multiple players end the season on the same amount of goals.

Salah is just 1/3 (1.33) to defend his crown ahead of Wolves’ trip to Liverpool, although his participation in that match remains in doubt.

The Egyptian was forced off with a head injury in the Reds’ dramatic 3-2 win at Newcastle and missed the 4-0 midweek win over Barcelona, with Divock Origi spearheading the attack.

The 26-year-old is unlikely to play the entire match on Sunday, even with the Premier League title on the line, to ensure he is fully fit for the Champions League final on June 1.

Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane is still in the running to claim a maiden Golden Boot on 20 goals and can be backed at 12/1 (13.0) with William Hill.

If Salah does not play the full match at Anfield on Sunday then Mane could be Liverpool’s main source of goals, having netted 12 in his last 15 Premier League matches.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang too needs a hat-trick if he is to stand any chance of leapfrogging Salah. The Arsenal man is available at 16/1 (17.0) to claim the Golden Boot in his first full Premier League campaign.

The Gunners travel to Burnley on Sunday and the Gabon international will certainly relish the fixture, having scored twice against Sean Dyche’s men in each of his two games against them.
