Premier League Betting: Joelinton 6/5 to top score for Newcastle in debut season

Joelinton is 6/5 (2.20) to top score for Newcastle next season after sealing a £35 million move to the Premier League side.

The Brazilian arrives in the north-east from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim and is one of only three senior strikers at the club alongside Yoshinori Muto and Dwight Gayle, following the sales of Ayoze Perez and Joselu.

Joelinton managed just seven Bundesliga strikes last season as Hoffenheim finished ninth in the German top-flight and will hope for a better return in his debut Premier League campaign.

bet365 go 5/2 (3.50) that Gayle scores the most Premier League goals for Steve Bruce’s men next term, although punters may be wary that he has never netted more than seven goals in a single top-flight season.

Miguel Almiron, who was Newcastle’s record signing until the arrival of Joelinton, is a 9/2 (5.50) shot after impressing in his first six months with the club, whilst Muto is out at 7/1 (8.0).

Elsewhere, West Ham’s record signing Sebastien Haller is 4/5 (1.80) to be his new side’s top scorer in the Premier League, ahead of Javier Hernandez at 11/4 (3.75) and 6/1 (7.0) Felipe Anderson.

Last season’s Golden Boot was shared by Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with Salah firm 8/13 (1.62) favourite to top score for Liverpool again. Mane is 2/1 (3.0).

Aubameyang, too, is the market leader to net the most Premier League goals for his club next season. Having plundered 32 goals in 49 league games for the Arsenal, he is 4/11 (1.36) to lead his club’s scoring charts again.

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero has been his side’s top scorer in six of the last eight seasons, including each of the last five, and is 4/5 (1.80) to do so this time around.

However, Raheem Sterling has found his scoring touch in the last two campaigns with a combined total of 35 goals and may offer significant value at 2/1 (3.0).

Cross-city rivals Manchester United have struggled for goals since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club six years ago, with no player crossing the 20-goal mark in a single Premier League season in that span.

Marcus Rashford is 13/8 (2.63) favourite with Romelu Lukaku currently 2/1 (3.0), although those numbers may change if the Belgian leaves this summer. Paul Pogba was United’s top scorer last term and is 7/2 (4.50) to repeat the feat.
