Premier League Betting: Arsenal Evens to finish above Chelsea next season

The Premier League season is still a month away but already there are plenty of ante post betting options available.

Whilst the usual markets such as outright winner and Golden Boot are likely to be two of the most popular, William Hill’s Season Match Bets offer long-term interest for punters looking for something different.

Found in the Outrights section of English Premier League, a season match bet is settled on whichever side of the two finishes highest in the table at the end of the campaign.

With Manchester City and Liverpool likely to occupy the top two spots and Tottenham hoping to claim third, the final Champions League place could be a shoot-out between Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.

William Hill offer 8/11 (1.73) that Chelsea finish above the Gunners and Evens (2.0) on the opposite, which could be one of the most enthralling battles of the season.

Chelsea finished third last term despite winning just one of the last five matches, pipping their London rivals by two points and also recording a 4-1 victory over Unai Emery’s side in the Europa League final.

However, the Blues are subject to a transfer ban this summer and so the departure of Eden Hazard could almost have not come at a worse time, although the saving grace is that Christian Pulisic signed in January and will act as Hazard’s replacement.

Maurizio Sarri has also been replaced by Frank Lampard, who has just one season of management under his belt after leading Derby County to the Championship play-off final, and such a jump will certainly provide a tough test for the Stamford Bridge legend.

Although the Gunners had their fair share of problems last season, losing three of their last five games to miss out on Champions League football, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s 22 goals in his first full campaign for the club will give them hope going forward.

Their defence still poses a problem for Emery, having kept just eight clean sheets and rocked by the recent behaviour of club captain Laurent Koscielny, making this season match bet certain to be a close one.
