Orlando Pirates winger Vincent Pule to miss Caf Champions League clash against Horoya AC

Orlando Pirates have been dealt a massive blow following news that winger Vincent Pule will the crucial Caf Champions League clash against Horoya AC of Guinea.

The 27-year-old attacker has not travelled with the Buccaneers to Conakry for their final Group B match on Saturday.

“A game of this significance will require all players to be available for selection however for Micho and his technical team that won’t necessarily be the case as they have some injury worries coming into this game,”

“The team were dealt a major blow on Thursday morning ahead of the trip when Vincent Pule picked up an injury in training. The attacker was subsequently dropped from the traveling party at the last minute,” a club statement read.

In other news, Pirates' Zambian attacker Justin Shonga, who is yet to recover from a niggling injury, could also miss the match.

“Meanwhile, another injury worry is that of Justin Shonga. The 22-year old has a niggling injury which saw him miss the Thursday training session however, unlike Pule, the Zambian international was included into the traveling squad,” another statement read.

Only a victory over Guinean champions Horoya at the Stade du 28 Septembre will see Pirates qualify for the quarter-finals as Group B runners-up.

Tunisian giants Esperance de Tunis having already booked their place in the last eight as Group B winners.
