Malaysia U15's campaign ends after semis defeat to Thailand

Malaysia U15's campaign in the 2017 U15 AFF Championship came to an end on Thursday, after they were defeated 1-0 by hosts Thailand at the Chonburi Stadium.

The only goal of the match was scored in the 17th minute by Jakkrapong Sanmahung, with the Young Tigers unable to find the equalising goal until the final whistle of the match.

After the defeat, Raja Azlan Shah Raja So'ib's boys will play in the the third-fourth place match on Sunday, against Australia. The Australians lost 2-0 in their semi-final clash against Vietnam, which was also hold on Thursday.

Malaysia had earlier finished Group B in second place behind Vietnam, while the hosts had topped Group A, with Australia in second.

In the group stage, Malaysia defeated the Philippines 2-0, Timor-Leste 2-0, Brunei 3-0, lost to Vietnam 1-0 and overcame Cambodia 4-2.
