Liverpool vs Barcelona Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Barcelona travel to Anfield on Tuesday evening in a dominant position ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg against Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp's men had more possession, more shots, more corners and completed more passes in last week's first leg at the Camp Nou, yet still ended up on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline.

The Reds have enjoyed some famous European comebacks in the past, but logic would dictate they have left themselves too much to do against the Spanish champions.

Latest odds

The hosts are favourites to win on the night with William Hill offering them at 11/8 (2.38), although the Merseysiders know they must score at least three goals to have any hope of going through.

If Barca score, then Liverpool would need to net five times and the Catalans are priced at 7/4 (2.75) to record back-to-back wins with the draw at 11/4 (3.75).

William Hill are running their Golden Goal promotion on this match. Place a pre-match single bet on the match odds market and it will be settled as a winner in cash (up to £50) if the team in question scores the first goal. Full terms and conditions can be found here.

Team news

Barcelona rested almost their entire first team for the La Liga trip to Celta Vigo at the weekend. Ousmane Dembele did feature however and picked up a hamstring injury which looks set to rule him out of the trip to England.

Klopp has confirmed that Mohammed Salah won't be fit after suffering a head injury against Newcastle. Roberto Firmino is also set to miss out.

Preview

Liverpool know they must score first at Anfield and if they manage to do that they could set themselves up for a special night. The Reds came flying out of the blocks at the Camp Nou last week and we should expect them to make another strong start.

The Premier League outfit created plenty of opportunities against the La Liga champions in the first leg and there is no reason why they cannot put them under serious pressure once more.

Liverpool v Barcelona Betting Preview

There were three goals scored in last week's game but in truth there should have been many more and the best selection looks to be backing a high-scoring second leg.

Tips and predictions

Over 3.0 goals on the Asian line is priced at 20/21 (1.95) and looks like a backable option given we are expecting the goals to flow.

If exactly three goals are scored then all stakes of returned, meaning backers of this selection only lose money if two goals or fewer are scored, something that looks unlikely.

If Liverpool come out all guns blazing then the price of 11/8 (2.37) for over 1.5 goals in the first half with William Hill could also appeal.
