Liverpool to cause more heartache for Huddersfield

With the Premier League title still in their sights, Liverpool look poised to run riot against a thoroughly underwhelming Huddersfield side already preparing for life in the Championship next season.

The Terriers have won just three games all season and are nine points adrift at the bottom of the table, while the Reds have lost just once all season and currently sit second - one point behind league leaders Manchester City.

If this season's form wasn't contrasting enough, Huddersfield's record against Liverpool suggests more heartache is in the offing on Saturday morning (AEST).

The Reds are unbeaten in their last 13 matches against the Terriers with their most recent loss dating back to 1959.

Huddersfield's wretched record against Liverpool has seen them fail to score in their past eight encounters and it's hard seeing them not making it nine.

The Terriers have scored just 20 goals all season, the exact number the Reds have conceded with Jurgen Klopp's men boasting the best defensive record in the Premier League this season.

Meeting on a Friday night in England, the day of the match also favours Liverpool, who have won four of their past five games played on a Friday.

Reds stars Mohamed Salah has also taken a clear liking to a Friday kick-off, scoring in all three of his Premier League games played on the day.

While Liverpool will require City dropping points if they are to finish first this season, this seemingly routine clash against Huddersfield should allow them to pile more pressure on Pep Guardiola's side.
