Young forward Philogene-Bidace signs new Villa deal


Jaden Philogene-Bidace has signed a new deal at Aston Villa, the club announced.

The forward has scored five goals and provided two assists in 11 appearances for Villa's U-23s this season.

And he's now put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at the club through June 2024.

Schalke name Grammozis new head coach


Schalke have appointed Dimitrios Grammozi as the club's new head coach.

The rock-bottom Bundesliga side have already sacked three coaches this season: David Wagner, Manuel Baum and Christian Gross.

Grammozis, who joins on a deal through June 2022, most recently managed SV Darmstadt from February 2019 until the summer of 2020.

Carragher says Man Utd need new striker


Former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes Manchester United need to sign a new top-class striker. 

"I think Manchester United have a quality issue. When the ball actually goes up to the front players, is there enough quality there?" Carragher told Sky.

"They are the top scorers in the Premier League, but have they got that player who can score goals in decisive games and take them to the league title?

"People talk about United needing a right winger, and they do, but they need a centre-forward more. If United had [Marcus] Rashford on the left, a new centre-forward, and [Mason] Greenwood supplementing a new right winger, that would address the lack of quality."

Ronald Koeman has addressed the ongoing speculation over his position at Camp Nou, insisting Barcelona "are going to have problems" if he doesn't have a future at the club.

Koeman was handed a two-year contract by Barca when he replaced Quique Setien in the hot seat back in August, but now finds himself under increasing pressure amid a turbulent 2020-21 campaign.

Favre turned down Rennes approach


Former Borussia Dortmund manager Lucien Favre turned down an approach from Rennes, reports Le10Sport.

Rennes are looking for a new manager after Julien Stephan's resignation, but Favre is not interested in taking over a team mid-season.

Several reports have stated that Rennes are now set to name former Lyon boss Bruno Genesio as their new manager.

Dortmund to sign teenage PSG defender


Borussia Dortmund will sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Soumaila Coulibaly on a free transfer in the summer, according to ESPN.

The 17-year-old is set to become the first signing for new Dortmund boss Marco Rose, who will take over in the summer after leaving Borussia Monchengladbach.

Eintracht Frankfurt star Andre Silva is looking to ignore rumours about a move to a bigger club.

Silva has bagged 19 goals in 21 Bundesliga appearances this season, leading to reports of interest from Manchester United, among others.

"I've heard rumours, but that is it," Silva told O Jogo.

Galaxy near deal for Blackburn defender Williams


The LA Galaxy are closing in on a deal for Blackburn Rovers defender Derrick Williams, reports LancsLive.

The 28-year-old has been with Rovers for four and a half seasons, with injuries limiting his time on the pitch. 

Williams has been capped three times by Republic of Ireland.

Agent of Leeds keeper Meslier speculates on Real interest


The agent of Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier believes his client could attract interest from Real Madrid at some stage in the near future, but he is advising the 21-year-old to stay put for now.

Xavier Fleury has told the LUFC Fan Zone podcast: "Illan is starting at Leeds. He loves the club. Perhaps in one, two seasons, if you have a club like Real Madrid that knock on the door – who knows?"

United have been tipped to make a move for Haaland in the summer transfer window, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly eager to reunite with a fellow Norwegian that he worked with at the start of his career at Molde.

However, several other top European clubs have also been credited with an interest in Haaland, and Cole doesn't think Old Trafford is the most attractive option for a player harbouring ambitions of winning major silverware.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is West Ham's number one transfer target for the summer - according to the Daily Star.

David Moyes is eager to bolster his attacking ranks, and the 23-year-old could be available after slipping down the squad pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
