    Former Real Madrid goalkeeper signs in Australia

    Western Sydney Wanderers FC have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Tomas Mejías.

    Mejias originally came up through the Real Madrid system before going on to play for Middlesbrough, Rayo Vallecano, Omonia and Dinamo Bucuresti.

    He most recently played in Turkey with Ankaraspor, featuring 17 times.

    Duisberg announce new coach

    MSV Duisberg have hired Hagen Schmidt as the club's new coach.

    The club announced on Monday that Schmidt has signed on, having previously coached at Borussia Mochengladbach's youth performance center.

    Club president Ingo Wald said: “Hagen Schmidt fulfills our requirement profile: stabilizing the team, developing it for the future, but above all playing successfully. 

    "He absolutely convinced us in his analysis of the team, the situation and the way he could get out of it. With his enthusiasm, his straightforward approach, his precise demeanor and his expertise, he has the tools to get the required points."
