Milan nearing Laxalt deal


Milan are in advanced talks with Genoa for Uruguay international Diego Laxalt, Football Italia reports.

The versatile left-sided player is reportedly on the verge of a €15 million (£13m/$17m). 

Milan and Villarreal near Castillejo-Bacca swap


AC Milan ​are set to land winger Samu Castillejo from Villarreal in a deal that will see striker Carlos Bacca go the other way, reports Sky Italia.

Castillejo, 23, will join Milan on an initial €3 million loan with a €15m (£13m/$17m) obligation to buy.

Meanwhile Bacca will return to Villarreal on a permanent basis after spending last season on loan with the Yellow Submarine. 

Messi temporarily retires from international football


Argentina captain Lionel Messi has chosen to step down from international football "until further notice," according to TNT Sports

Having failed to take the World Cup title in his fourth attempt this summer, the Barcelona star has made himself unavailable for selection in Argentina's upcoming friendlies. 

The decision, which has the consent of AFA president Claudio Tapia and interim coach Lionel Scaloni, will remain in place for the rest of 2018 and, indeed, until Messi decides otherwise.

Nice, Cologne and Galatasaray in for Modeste


Nice, Cologne and Galatasaray are all interested in signing striker Anthony Modeste, reports RMC Sport.

The 30-year-old moved from Cologne to Tianjin Quanjian last year, but saw his contract terminated recently after a conflict with the Chinese club. 

Modeste is open to returning to Cologne, despite the club's relegation to the 2. Bundesliga, and could also return to his native France with Nice.

Monaco hoping to land Brahimi


Monaco are hoping to sign Porto star Yacine Brahimi, according to France Football.

Following the departure of Keita Balde to Inter, the principality club are looking to replenish their attacking options. 

Brahimi has a €60 million (£53m/$68m) release clause, but Monaco hope to negotiate a lower fee with the Algerian's contact expiring next summer. 

Barca tell Dembele he won't be sold

The 21-year-old saw his future called into doubt after a challenging first season with the club, followed by the summer addition of Malcom.

Suso remains keen to extend his contract at AC Milan regardless of the club's efforts to land Samu Castillejo from Villarreal, claims Calciomercato.

The Spanish forward has been linked with a move to Roma, but he intends to stay at San Siro.

Mourinho wants to keep defensive duo


Jose Mourinho wants to keep Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo at Manchester United but will let them dictate their own future, reports ESPN.

Darmian has been linked with a return to his native Italy at Juventus, Inter or Napoli while Turkish outfit Fenerbahce are said to be keen on Rojo.


Leipzig eye Rudy to replace Keita


RB Leipzig's hunt to find a suitable replacement for Liverpool new boy Naby Keita has led them to Bayern Munich star Sebastian Rudy, claims SWR Sport.

The 28-year-old faces fierce competition for places at the Allianz Arena, but no transfer to take him away from Bavaria has been agreed as yet.

Frosinone close on Arsenal's Campbell


Joel Campbell is closing in on a permanent move away from Arsenal, with Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that Serie A newcomers Frosinone are keen on the Costa Rican.

Lazio had also been hoping to lure the forward to Italy, but they were looking to reach a loan agreement and the Gunners have no interest in sanctioning more short-term deals.

Russia World Cup hero Cheryshev moves to Valencia on loan


Valencia have announced the signing of Russia's World Cup hero Denis Cheryshev, who moves to the Mestalla club on loan. 

"Valencia CF has reached an agreement this Tuesday with Villarreal CF, pending formalization, for the loan of player Denis Cheryshev until the end of the season," the club stated on their official website

Sevilla midfielder Steven Nzonzi has arrived at Roma to complete his €30million switch to the Stadio Olimpico.

The midfielder, 29, had previously been linked with a big-money switch to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Manchester United among the rumoured suitors.

Tiemoue Bakayoko has completed his loan move from Chelsea to AC Milan, with that deal including a €35 million (£31m/$40m) purchase option.

Paris Saint-Germain are ready to bid £100 million (€112m/$128m) for Tottenham star Christian Eriksen, according to the Express

The midfielder has yet to sign a new deal with Spurs, which has alerted some of Europe's biggest clubs. 

Though they are unable to sign a replacement until January, Tottenham could opt to cash in on the 26-year-old Danish international. 

Tottenham ready to sell Rose


Danny Rose will depart Tottenham before the end of August, claims the Mirror

Schalke and PSG are interested in the left-back and Spurs are open to a sale despite no longer being able to bring in a replacement. 

Ben Davies has won Tottenham's left-back job, with Jan Vertonghen or Kyle Walker-Peters able to fill in if needed.

Loftus-Cheek set for Schalke move


Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set to join Schalke on a season-long loan, reports the Daily Mail.

Barca won't close door on Dembele sale


Barcelona are prepared to listen if Paris Saint-Germain make an offer for Ousmane Dembele, according to Mundo Deportivo.

PSG are known to be interested in the France international, and are mulling over a formal offer. 

Though Barca believe in Dembele's potential, they could be moved to sell should PSG offer near the €105 million (£94m/$120m) Barca paid to sign him from Dortmund last summer. 

Atletico and Dortmund interested in Aurier


Atletico Madrid had interest in Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier before they signed Santiago Arias last month, reports RMC Sport.

The report states that Borussia Dortmund are also currently interested in the Ivorian, who joined Spurs from PSG last summer. 

Despite the admirers, the 25-year-old appears set to remain in London this season. 

Man Utd confident De Gea will sign new deal


The Spain international's current deal is set to expire at the end of the season

Manchester United are confident that goalkeeper David de Gea will sign a new contract, reports The Guardian.

The 27-year-old's current deal is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, though United have the option to extend it for one more season.

But the Red Devils are increasingly confident they can tie De Gea down for the long term with a large increase on his current salary of £180,000 a week.

Marseille not giving up on Giroud


Marseille are still hopeful of landing Olivier Giroud from Chelsea, reports Le10Sport.

After initially informing Chelsea of their interest three weeks ago, the Ligue 1 side have again made contact with the Blues over the France striker. 

The report claims Giroud is not looking to leave the Blues for now, and has also attracted interest from AC Milan and Atletico Madrid

N'Zonzi nears €30m Roma move


Sevilla midfielder Steven N'Zonzi is closing in on a €30 million (£27m/$34m) move to Roma, according to Sky Italia.

The 29-year-old had been linked to Arsenal and Barcelona after helping France to a World Cup title this summer. 

But Roma and Sevilla have made a breakthrough in negotiations, with N'Zonzi's move to be sealed in the coming days.


Fenerbahce in talks over Rojo loan


Fenerbahce are in talks with Manchester United over a loan move for defender Marcos Rojo, claims Fanatik

The 28-year-old is not in United's plans for the upcoming season and has drawn interest from clubs all over Europe. 

Former Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli, now in the same position at Fenerbahce, hopes to land Rojo for the 2018-19 season. 

Marlon nears Schalke move


Barcelona defender Marlon is nearing a move to Schalke, reports Sport

After the sale of Thilo Kehrer to PSG, Schalke are looking to spend around €15 million (£13m/$17m) on the Brazilian, who spent last season on loan at Nice. 

Sunderland, West Ham and Newcastle had also shown interest in the 22-year-old.
