Barcelona are planning talks with coach Ernesto Valverde over a contract extension,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20180823/451412493046/barca-valverde.html" target="_blank">Mundo Deportivo</a>&nbsp;reports. The Spaniard is in the final 12 months of his deal at Camp Nou, but they hope to tie him down for another year. Director of football Eric Abidal will sit down with him next month to begin&nbsp;working on a deal.

Liverpool will not allow Borussia&nbsp;Dortmund to acquire&nbsp;Divock&nbsp;Origi without a mandatory purchase option, according to <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/08/22/liverpool-will-loan-divock-origi-borussia-dortmund-german-club/" target="_blank">The Telegraph.</a> The clubs have been locked in discussions over the striker, with Dortmund hoping to land Origi&nbsp;on a season-long loan. But the Reds will insist that any deal for the 23-year-old include an obligation for Dortmund to buy at the end of 2018-19.

Paris Saint-Germain&nbsp;want to sign a new left-back before the end of August and are looking at five options, reports <a href="https://le10sport.com/football/mercato/exclu-mercato-psg-le-point-sur-les-pistes-pour-larriere-gauche-397520" target="_blank">Le10Sport</a>.&nbsp; The Ligue 1 side were initially looking into signing Alex Sandro from Juventus, but the Brazilian proved too expensive with Juve&nbsp;demanding up to €70 million (£63m/$81m).&nbsp; That has left five other options on&nbsp;PSG's wish-list: Filipe Luis, Juan Bernat, Ricardo Rodriguez, Danny Rose and Wendell.&nbsp;
