Ronaldo becomes eighth player to play for Juventus having won the Ballon d'Or

I guess we now know the prerequisites of playing for Juve!

Ronaldo's signing for the Italian champions means that he is now the eighth player to play for Juventus having won the Ballon d'Or.

Six former Juventus players have the honour of having won the Ballon d'Or: Omar Sívori (1961), Paolo Rossi (1982), Michel Platini (1983, 1984 and 1985), Roberto Baggio (1993), Zinedine Zidane (1998) and Pavel Nedved (2003).

Fabio Cannavaro won the Golden Ball in 2006, when he went the opposite way of Ronaldo and signed for Madrid from Juventus.

Is Cristiano Ronaldo the greatest Real Madrid player of all time?

Debate will continue until the end of eternity for who is the GOAT in football (Future World Cup Winner Trent Alexander-Arnold). But was Ronaldo the greatest Real Madrid player of all time?

He's won everything under the sun – along with his five Ballons d'Or and five Champions League trophies – and will no doubt go down in history at the Bernabeu. But is he the best player to have ever represented Los Blancos? Read our in-depth look.

Stunning €340m Ronaldo transfer to Juventus will revive Italian football

With Ronaldo in their squad, Juventus could very well be winning the next 10 or so Serie A titles. Why should Roma or Napoli bother, really? They could take a ten-year holiday or until the 33-year-old decides to retire.

But perhaps the addition of the Portuguese superstar to the sidse could mean a revival of Italian football. Italian teams did well to go far in Europe in the Champions League – and could be set for a nice Italian renaissance.

Ronaldo pens open letter to Real Madrid fans

The 33-year-old has thanked Madrid supporters

Cristiano Ronaldo has written an open letter to Real Madrid fans. Here's how it begins...

"These years at Real Madrid, and in this city of Madrid, have been possibly the happiest of my life.

"I only have feelings of enormous gratitude for this club, for this sport and for this city. I can only thank everyone for the love and affection I have received.

"However, I believe that the time has come to open a new stage in my life and that is why I have asked the club to accept selling me. This is how I feel and I want to ask everyone, and especially our fans, to please understand me.

"Thank you infinitely to our fans and thanks also to Spanish Football. During these nine years I have had the pleasure of playing alongside great players. You have my respect and my recognition for all of them."

How would Juventus line up with Ronaldo?

Where would he be best deployed by Massimiliano Allegri?

What team wouldn't want Ronaldo? The Italian champions are already equipped with the strike force of Dybala and Higuain and spoiled for choice – and adding the Portuguese international to the trio would be enough to demolish any side.

So how would they line up with the 33-year-old? Read Goal's in-depth look here.

Ronaldo signs for a deal worth worth £500,000 a week

So it's official! The 33-year-old won four Champions League titles while at the club as well as two league championships, along with two Copa del Rey titles and three FIFA Club World Cups.

Sounds like he's earning a hefty £500,000 per week in Italy - so it's certainly no financial downgrade.
