Latest Champions League Betting Odds: Manchester City still favourites to qualify against Tottenham

Tottenham took a valuable 1-0 lead in their first Champions League meeting with Manchester City.

Spurs won the first European game in their new stadium, courtesy of a second half strike from Son Heung-Min. The visitors have now lost all five of their European matches against English opposition, three of which came in this competition.

Despite that, City remain 7/10 (1.70) favourites with bet365 to reach the semi-finals. Mauricio Pochettino's men are priced at 21/20 (2.05) with the same firm.

Tottenham backers could be encouraged by the fact that the North London club have progressed on each of the last nine occasions after winning the first leg of a European knockout match (excluding qualifiers).

Spurs would likely have been a shorter price to make that 10 in a row, but Harry Kane suffered an injury that his manager believes could rule the England international out for the remainder of the season.

However, having kept City at bay in the first meeting, should Pochettino's side score at the Etihad Stadium next week, the home side would need to find the net at least thee times to remain in the competition.

The Citizens remain at the head of the outright market albeit they've drited from 9/4 (3.25) to 3/1 (4.0) co-favourites alongside Barcelona with bet365.

Spurs are an industry-best price of 14/1 (15.0) to be crowned European champions, cut from 20/1 (21.0) before the first-leg got underway.

It could have been a very different story had Sergio Aguero converted a first half penalty after VAR ruled Danny Rose had handled the ball inside the 18-yard area but Hugo Lloris saved his third spot-kick of the season.

The result leaves the tie well-balanced according to the bookmakers, unlike Liverpool's clash with Porto.

Jurgen Klopp's side eased to a 2-0 win over their Portuguese opponents and are just 1/40 to secure a spot in the semi-finals.

The visitors were already significant underdogs to get the better of the team that beat them 5-0 on aggregate in last season's competition but they're now 16/1 (17.0) shots to turn the tie around on home soil.

The Reds are now unbeaten in 21 European games, winning 15 of them and keeping 12 clean sheets. They're 7/2 (4.50) to go one better than last season's defeat in the final.
