2019 AFC Asian Cup Qualifier: Kyrgyzstan coach Alexander Krestinin seeking revenge on India

Kyrgyzstan coach Alexander Krestinin is gunning for revenge when his team hosts India in their final 2019 AFC Asian Cup Third Round Qualifier in Bishkek on Tuesday.

India had prevailed 1-0 in Bengaluru last June when these two teams played each other and Krestinin wanted nothing but a win to erase memories of that loss.

"Despite playing a valiant football, we lost in India and now we have the opportunity for a revenge in our home. We will, by no means, let the opportunity go off our hands," he stated.

Both Kyrgyzstan and India have qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup but the hosts are three points behind India in the group. However, Krestinin painted a confident picture and expressed that his team was prepared to spar with the Blue Tigers.

"Yes, we have already qualified but the qualification process isn't over yet. Tomorrow is a new match and we both will have to start from zero. We're ready for the challenge and we are ready to face India at our home."

The 39-year-old went on to assert that his team would look to continue their momentum after a 5-1 win over Myanmar last week.

"We had a great victory against Myanmar to qualify but the process is still on. Our preparation is going according to the plan and we look to secure another victory ahead of our own fans."
