Wellington Phoenix striker Roy Krishna has confirmed his departure from the club and A-League after a stunning individual season.
The Fijian picked up the competition's golden boot and Johnny Warren Medal after scoring 19 league goals for the Nix.
The 31-year-old's fine form saw him attract plenty of interest from other A-League clubs but he's now poised to sign for an unnamed Korean club.
Wellington were desperate to keep hold of Krishna with the club's general manager David Dome recently saying their offer to retain the Fijian was the largest made in their history.
But after six seasons with the Nix, the attacker is now set to test himself overseas.
Along with Wellington, A-League sides Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory were also reportedly interested in securing the Fijian's signature but Krishna never contemplated playing for another club in the league.
"After much thought and consideration and consultation with my family back in Fiji, we have decided to move on from the A-League to secure a future outside of the league," Krishna said.
"We have negotiated a contract and we are currently working out the finer details. We will be announcing the club name when we are back from our belated honeymoon towards the end of June.
"If I was going to stay in the A-League then I would have continued with the Wellington Phoenix as we have built a wonderful community together with the club and the wonderful Nix supporters."
Krishna's departure from the Nix leaves new coach Ufuk Talay with even more work to do with The Covert Agent recently revealing who looms as his first signing.
