KPL transfers: Tusker net defender from Mathare United

Tusker have completed the signing of defender David Mwangi from Mathare United.

The defender is seen as a replacement for Shafique Batambuze, who quit the champions for Singinda United of Tanzania. Mwangi is the second signing for Tusker, after they captured services of Paul Odhiambo from Sofapaka.

Meanwhile, Sofapaka have unveiled new faces ahead of Kenyan Premier League resumption. Among the players signed by Batoto ba Mungu are Timothy Luda from Thika United, Abdulatif Omar and Meshack Karani, both who join from Kakamega Homeboyz. Other players are Hillary Echesa, Willis Ouma (from Chemelil Sugar), Umar Kasumba (from Uganda), Wesley Onguso (from Western Stima) and Moren Otinya from (Palos FC).

Sofapaka coach Sam Ssimbwa has insisted that the new signings will help bring another dimension for the 2009 champions. “We have bolstered our squad because our ultimate goal is to win the league title. We will not give up and will fight until the end.”
