MTN8: Komphela and Tembo praise Gabuza after playing through family heartache

SuperSport United beat Highlands Park 1-0 at Orlando Stadium, with Thamsanqa Gabuza producing a Man of the Match performance.

After the game, the team's head coach Kaitano Tembo revealed Gabuza had lost his son a few days before the final.

The former Orlando Pirates forward kept the sad news secret because he didn't want to upset his team going into the MTN8 final.

We can watch Tembo revealing the news with a special tribute, with two videos from social media below.

There's also a wonderful tribute from former Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela. The Golden Arrows mentor had previously given special advice for Gabuza while he was struggling with the criticism of Pirates fans.

Komphela posted the video advice on Twitter (as seen below), and added a few more words as to how Gabuza has now found his strength.

We also include a number of comments from supporters around the country who are praising Gabuza for his selfless approach.

Gabuza lost his son on Monday and could not attend the funeral on Thursday because he wanted to help Amatsantsantsa remain focused on the final against the Lions of the North.
