Keita and Leipzig clinch Champions League spot

Naby Keita helped RasenBallsport Leipzig clinch their spot in the Uefa Champions League with a 4-0 win over SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Yussuf Poulsen, Timo Werner, Keita and Diego Demme were the scorers at the Red Bull Arena as Leipzig continued to rewrite Bundesliga history by clinching a spot in Europe's most prestigious club competition next campaign in only their maiden season in the German top tier.

Die Bullen gained promotion after finishing as runners-up in the Bundesliga 2 last campaign.

Keita has been one of the Saxony club's revelations this term with his energetic displays, and as well as been a key defensive presence, he's also been a consistent threat in front of goal for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men.

The 22-year-old was the scorer of his side’s third goal - his eighth of the campaign on his 26th appearance - to make it 3-0 with a superb finish into the top corner after capitalising on a mistake by Freiburg's Marc-Oliver Kempf.

However, despite helping Die Bullen to the elite football competition, it remains to be seen if Leipzig will be able to ward off the continued interest in the West African.

Keita has been a transfer target of a number of European top sides including Liverpool, Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain, and his latest fine performance should see interest swell only further in his services.
