The assistant head coach of Kedah, Nidzam Adzha has insisted that the change of head coaches their opponents, JDT are going through, has no effects on his team at all.

Speaking on behalf of head coach Tan Cheng Hoe, who was unavailable for the pre-match Cup press conference, Nidzam said they were only focused on their own preparations.

“For Kedah, we just want to focus on our team and our preparation. We really don’t want to know what happened in JDT’s camp. It doesn’t really affect our focus on the game.”

Kedah suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat at the hands of JDT last season in one of their matches, and Nidzam is determined to avoid the same thing from happening again.

He also hoping that their two new import players, Ken Ilso and Zac Anderson can quickly adapt to their style of play, while also crossing his fingers that captain Khairul Helmi Johari and midfielder Syazwan Zainon will be fit for the clash.

“We already forgot what happened to us in the past. At that time, it was our second game after we signed new foreign players, and similar to tomorrow, I hope that our two new foreign players can adapt quickly to our style of play.”

“A few players, such as captain Khairul Helmi and Syazwan Zainon are still injured, but hopefully they can recover before the game.”

Meanwhile, Malaysia midfielder Baddrol Bakhtiar admitted that JDT have a strong squad despite having brought on new players, but he is confident that Kedah can still get a positive result after coming off from a good pre-season.

“During the pre-season, we tried plenty of combinations and we got positive results so I hope we can do the same for tomorrow.”

“JDT are strong in every department. Despite the fact that they have new players, they still have plenty of national players in their squad so they are still a strong team,” added Baddrol.
