India to play Palestine in October

Stephen Constantine’s India are set to come up against Palestine in an international friendly on October 2 at Mumbai’s Andheri Sports Complex.

The national team would convene in Mumbai around the last week of September to prepare for the Asian Cup qualifier tie against Macau on October 10 which is scheduled at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru.

Incidentally, India have suffered twin defeats (2-3 and 2-4) in their last two encounters against the Lions of Canaan when Wim Koevermans was the head coach.

Interestingly, Palestine are ranked 93 in the world, four spots higher than India. This will certainly be a good test for Indians ahead of the Macau home game.

Palestine are unbeaten in their last four matches and are among firm favourites to qualify for the Asian Cup in 2019 after having won their first two games against Maldives and Oman.
