Impact subs Iheanacho & Ndidi praised by Leicester City boss Claude Puel

Leicester City Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi have earned the praises of their boss Claude Puel following their impressive performance in their 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Ndidi was introduced for Vicente Iborra in the 32nd minute in Saturday's Premier League fixture after the Foxes were reduced to 10 men as James Maddison picked his second booking and the 26-year-old was impressive for the duration he featured.

His compatriot, Iheanacho replaced Shinji Okazaki in the 70th minute and won a late penalty that was converted by another substitute Jamie Vardy to help the King Power Stadium outfit claim a point in the encounter, much to the delight of the French tactician.

“I’m happy for all my players. The players that came off from the bench gave also a good mentality,” Puel told LCFC TV.

“The quality of [Kelechi] Iheanacho, [Wilfred] Ndidi and Jamie [Vardy] and all of the squad pushed from the same side and I like this.”

With the draw, Leicester City are 10th in the league standings with 18 points from 13 games.

The Super Eagles duo will look to build on the fine displays when Leicester lock horns with Southampton in Tuesday’s League Cup tie.
