Ibrahimovic responds after Lindelof calls him out following goal for Sweden

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has responded to defender Victor Lindelof after the Sweden defender jokingly called out the legendary striker.

Lindelof opened the scoring in Sweden's 2-0 win over Russia on Tuesday.

The Manchester United star powered home a half-volley from inside the box, prior to Marcus Berg's second goal.

Lindelof, 24, took to Twitter after the match, tweeting: "Watch out, Ibrahimovic."

Ibrahimovic, 37, is Sweden's all-time leading goalscorer, having netted 62 times in his 116 appearances for the national team.

And the striker, who has retired from international football, responded swiftly to the centre-back, suggesting he has given Lindelof some sound advice.

"I told you it's easy," he wrote. "Let's goo [sic]."

Lindelof recently told United's official website: "Most people don’t know that but, yeah, I can score nice goals. I can.

"I just started as a No.10 and also played as a winger in the national team actually.

"Then No.8, No.6 and then I became a right-back and now central defender. I played all those positions.

"When I was younger I was a No.10 in a free role and I could move around a little bit. I like central midfield."

Speculation persists over Ibrahimovic's future, although the LA Galaxy are hopeful the striker will remain with them.

The club failed to qualify for MLS play-offs despite the star's 22 league goals and it has been suggested in Italy that he could return to former club AC Milan.

Ibrahimovic previously scored 56 goals in 85 appearances at San Siro, winning Serie A and the Supercoppa Italiana.
