Neymar has hailed former Barcelona team-mates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in an Instagram post wishing both the best of luck for the future.
Barcelona 19/20 to win La Liga
Along with the South American duo, the Brazil star, who moved to Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday for a world-record €222 million, formed one third of the famed ‘MSN’ offensive trio that is regarded as one of the best forward lines in the history of the game.
Neymar is sad to have ended that relationship but is grateful for the time spent together.
“Brothers, I wish you all the best. Thank you for these years of great joy and learning,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I’m a more accomplished guy for playing with you. One of the reasons I signed for Barcelona was you Lionel Messi, because I wanted to play with my idol and the greatest I’ve ever seen in football.
"Thank you for the affection you had with me and everything I learned from looking at you closely. I am your fan and will always admire you.
“Luis Suarez brought us great joy and brought us together even more. Who would say that three South Americans would work? I learned several things with you and the biggest one was to kick first! I wish you all the best! I love you
“I also want to thank my dear friends that I’ve had for all these years. I arrived a dreamy boy, wanting to learn from you, and today I am a proud man to have had you by my side for this time!
“May you never lose your humility and may you always be happy!
“We’re together. And the rest… it is history!”
Neymar will be presented to PSG fans on Friday ahead of their Ligue 1 season debut on Saturday against Amiens.
