Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Bernard 'Don' Bortey has urged the club's new owners to include some egends in the management committee to help in the day-to-day activities of the outfit.
The 36-year-old believes that the presence of former players will serve as a motivation to young players.
“Hearts of Oak should be emulating what Kotoko are doing because the club was established for the people. You have legends who won laurels for the club yet they have been ignored," Bortey told Otec FM.
"They have what it takes to inculcate something better into the current players for them to achieve success. The legends must be given roles to also help retun the club to its past glories.
"During my active days, I had the opportunity to work with Emmanuel Osei Kuffour and other top players and that really had an impact in my career.
“Hearts of Oak should give chance to their legends who are capable of helping in several ways including administration. In the end, the current crop of players will benefit,” he added.
Bortey, who won four Ghana Premier League titles and a topscorer award, was a key figure when the Phobians won the 2004 Caf Confederation Cup.
