Gor Mahia cut down on the number of elected officials

Gor Mahia will have only five elected officials in the next office.

This is after the club passed a new constitution during its Annual General Meeting held last weekend.

As opposed to the original constitution which had 11 elective positions, the new constitution only allows for positions of Chairman, Vice-chairman, one Secretary General, Treasurer and Organizing Secretary. 

"In the new constitution, gender has been considered and the office bearers will have a four-year term and only five elective positions," Ambrose Rachier told the club's official website.

The new office will, however, have three nonelective members for Chief Executive Officer, Head of Security and head of the finance department.

“This is in-line with the Sports Act and Fifa regulations where we have also created room for the position of Chief Executive Officer,  head of security and there will be someone appointed for the finance department.”

Other changes in the new law are the expansion of term of office bearer by a further two years to four and recognition branches as part of the club's structure.
