Gor Mahia captain Harun Shakava lauds axed Karim Nizigiyimana

Gor Mahia captain Harun Shakava has lauded his former colleague, Karim Nizigiyimana, who was released by the club last week.

Gor Mahia opted against extending the contract of the Burundian with K’Ogalo management citing his dipping form as the main reason for his axe.

But despite the player being recommended by former coach Dylan Kerr to be off K’Ogalo’s books, Shakava believes his former teammate will get a good club that will benefit from his services.

"Karim is a good player. He really helped us and we are happy to have played with him in this team. Now that he is leaving, there is nothing we can do but thank him for his time with us, and most importantly wish him the best.

“He is a good player with experience that will benefit whichever club he joins. Gor is a good club, but when an offer comes, a better one for that matter no one will stop you from leaving."

Gor Mahia are currently preparing for Caf Champions League return leg match against Nyasa Big Bullets of Malawi on December 5.
