Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards attract poor entry in the KPL Awards nomination list

Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia have attracted five nominees in the 2018 KPL Awards Gala set for October 25.

The annual Gala will be staged at the Kenya School of Government in Kabete. Despite K'Ogalo dominating the last campaign that saw Dylan Kerr retain the league title, only Haron Shakava, Joash Onyango and Jacques Tuyisenge made it to the nomination list.

Onyango and Shakava will fight it out for the Defender of the Year award while Tuyisenge, having scored 15 league goals last season, has been nominated for the already grabbed Golden Boot Award. Erick Kapaito is the outright winner, having scored a goal more than Tuyisenge.

Gor Mahia have also been nominated for the Fair Play Club of the Year while Kerr got a nomination for the coach of the year. Ingwe have attracted three; Marvin Nabwire having two of those-New Player of the Year and Midfielder of the Year same as Whyvonne Isuza.
