Nigeria foes, Germany announce final squad for U20 Women’s World Cup

Germany have confirmed their final 21-woman squad for the 2018 Fifa U20 Women's World Cup to be held in France next month.

Coach Maren Meinert will depart for the ninth women youth championship in France on August 2 with three goalkeepers, seven defenders, seven midfielders and four strikers. 

The list is made up of five players who helped the European nation reach the quarter-finals at the last edition in Papua New Guinea including captain Jana Feldkamp twin sister Katja and Dina Orschmann plus attacking duo of Stefanie Sanders and Laura Freigang.

For their final camping, the German side will hold their final preparation from July 22-25, and will in the process face the Netherlands U20 in an international friendly on July 24 at the Hubert Houben Stadium in Goch. 

The three-time world champions will battle their usual foes Nigeria on August 6 before matches before matches against China and Haiti respectively in the preliminary stages.
