France come into Euro 2020 as champions of the world and are looking to hold two major international trophies for the second time in their history.
Les Bleus already accomplished this when they won Euro 2000 just a couple of years after lifting the 1998 World Cup on home turf.
Euro 2020 Qualification
Despite a rare defeat early on, going down 2-0 in Turkey, France unsurprisingly topped Group H with eight wins and a draw from 10 games.
It was not always easy for the world champions, who had to come from behind to beat Moldova at home, but they did enough to win the group by two points.
Olivier Giroud scored six of Les Bleus' 25 strikes, while Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Kingsley Coman all netted three each.
Tournament History
France's two European Championships make them the third-most successful nation in the history of the competition, having lifted the trophy in 1984 and 2000.
They were also runners-up when they hosted the tournament five years ago, losing to Portugal in the final after extra time despite dominating the first 90 minutes of play.
As well as those victories, Les Bleus were semi-finalists in 1996 and have been knocked out in the quarter-finals on a further two occasions.
