AFC Leopards have finished third in this year's edition of the Shield Cup after defeating Ulinzi Stars at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.
Both teams needed a win to at least get a consolation prize of Sh750, 000 after falling in the semi-finals against Kariobangi Sharks and Sofapaka, who managed to progress to the finals.
Neither side could get an opener in the first half, as both teams resorted to a cautious approach. Chances were few as the midfield was crowded on most occasions, and the wingers were quickly shut.
It opened up a little after the break, but still no goal came until the 73rd minute when Leopards conceded a penalty that was executed well well by former Ingwe midfielder Bernard Ongoma. But the lead lasted for only ten minutes as Eugene Mukangula leveled matters to send the match to penalties.
Ingwe managed to keep their nerves to win the shootout 5-4 and win the bronze ahead of the soldiers.

The two teams will now focus on preparations for the new league that is set to kick-off on the December 8.
