The South African football community has been rocked by news of the passing of the father of late Orlando Pirates star Senzo Meyiwa.
Sam Meyiwa is believed to have been in an out of hospital as he battled with a long-term illness, and struggled to come to terms with his son's untimely passing.
Meyiwa also reportedly suffered a stroke in 2018 and was hospitalised at the Prince Mshiyeni Hospital in Umlazi.
Meyiwa was a strong advocate for seeing the killers of his son, Senzo, brought to justice following an alleged robbery which took place in Vosloorus nearly five years ago.
However, with Meyiwa having passed away at his home in Umlazi, he has been unable to realise his wish with his son’s murder case still unresolved despite his sincere pleas.
