Enyimba 1-1 Horoya: Haba grabs vital away goal for N'Diaye's side

Substitute Boniface Haba was Horoya’s hero as he helped the Guinean giants secure a 1-1 draw against Enyimba in the first leg of their Caf Confederation Cup quarter-final tie.

Lamine N’Diaye’s men were poor in the first half and deservedly went behind to Augustine Oladapo’s 18th-minute effort.

Oladapo drove home a ferocious left-footed strike after the Guineans’ backline was caught off guard from a freekick by the Nigerians.

The visitors squandered two golden opportunities to restore parity, with Alseny Camara and Aristide Bance missing clear cut chances, as Enyimba went into the half-time break with a slim lead.

In the second half, Haba replaced misfiring Bance while injured Sekou Camara was replaced by Tafadzwa Kutinyu to help Horoya’s chances of getting a positive result.

That paid off with 20 minutes to go when Haba headed into the bottom left corner after a clever cross from Boubacar Samassekou.

Victor Mbaoma then missed a late chance to get Fatai Osho’s men the victory heading into the return leg on March 8 inside Conakry’s Stade du 28 Septembre.
