England U-21 v Poland U-21 Betting: Young Lions capable of outscoring despondent hosts

England will be hoping to seal their place in the European Under-21 Championship semi-finals when they take on Poland at the Kolporter Arena on Thursday.

Top of Group A with four points to their name, Aidy Boothroyd's side are 3/5 (1.60) favourites with bet365 to progress to the final four with victory in Kielce.

Meanwhile, the hosts are already eliminated after taking just one point from their first two fixtures, but are available at 5/1 (6.00) to go out on a high by coming out on top in this one.

The Bialo-Czerwoni scored a last-minute equaliser to draw 2-2 with Sweden last time out, and there are odds of 13/5 (3.60) available on them being forced to settle for another stalemate here.

Things were looking ominous for the Young Lions when they trailed at half-time against Slovakia in their second group game, having been held to a 0-0 draw by Sweden in the opener.

However, a successful second-half fightback means they can go into the final game with every confidence of making it through to the next round by overcoming already eliminated opposition.

Indeed, Boothroyd’s men should have plenty of joy when they take on a team that has conceded twice in each of the last four matches, losing three times and drawing once in that run.

On the other hand, Marcin Doma’s outfit have actually found the net themselves in 10 consecutive fixtures, so are not to underestimated in front of goal either.

With little to lose and keen to sign off by giving the home fans something to cheer about, odds of 3/4 (1.75) seem generous on the hosts at least joining England on the scoresheet.

That bet would have paid out in Poland’s last four matches in a row, as well as their previous two encounters with this opposition.
