Coronavirus: Semenya beats Ronaldo and Oshoala in Living Room Cup

South Africa star Caster Semenya headlined the African women's stars, including compatriot Janine Van Wyk and Nigeria's Asisat Oshoala, in joining Cristiano Ronaldo's Living Room Cup.

Major competitions and sporting events globally have been postponed as the world battles the coronavirus pandemic, which has affected more than 1.4 million people and killed more than 81,000.

Just as the men's football stars observed self-isolation to combat the spread of the coronavirus, the women are also taking part in several challenges as alternatives to stay fit.

Guingamp's Desire Oparanozie, Madrid CFF's Rita Chikwelu were also involved in the viral challenge which was initiated by Ronaldo in partnership with kit manufacturing outfit Nike.

Launching the ab challenge via his Instagram account, Juventus star Ronaldo invited fans and followers to attempt to beat his “core crusher record” after finishing 142 reps in just 45 seconds.

In a huge surprise, Semenya broke the Portuguese forward's record as she finished 176 reps in just 45 seconds, while Oshoala managed 119 reps, Van Wyk 86, Oparanozie 64 and Chikwelu 98.
