UEFA Champions League final: The key men - Harry Kane

It has been a disappointing season for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, who has been plagued by several injuries. For the first time in five years, the England captain did not finish among the top three goal scorers of the season.

Even though he scored 17 goals in the Premier League and five Champions League goals, injuries have meant Kane could not match his goalscoring exploits from the previous seasons.

Yet Harry Kane will continue to be Tottenham’s key man as the North London side gear up to play their first ever Champions League final against Liverpool.

Harry Kane has been the club’s star player and is one of the key behind the club’s success in the recent years. The English skipper has been Tottenham's poster boy since his emergence in the 2014/15 season.

While Kane has not been able to give his hundred per cent this year due to injuries, Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham have done a remarkable job in the absence of their talisman.

The striker suffered a back injury during the quarterfinal first leg clash against Manchester City. Since leaving the field around the 50th-minute mark, Kane is yet to make a comeback. Without his service, Spurs have managed to overcome the Manchester City hurdle at the Etihad stadium and then pull off a miraculous comeback win against Dutch giants AFC Ajax in the semifinal.

Lucas Moura and Heung Min Son have done an exceptional job upfront in the absence of Harry Kane.

Tottenham will be looking forward to capping off a dream season in the continental competition with a win in the final and Kane’s comeback from injury to the squad will certainly bolster their confidence.
