Tanguy Ndombele was one of the revelations of the 2018-19 season for Olympique Lyon.
The French midfielder signed for Lyon in the summer of 2017 on loan from Amiens and then inked a permanent contract in 2018. He would go on to enjoy a stellar season for the Les Gones that saw Tottenham Hotspur swoop in to sign him.
The 22-year-old attracted the attention of Europe's bigwigs after a stellar showing for Lyon in the UEFA Champions League. Ndombele was the lynchpin in that midfield as Lyon went on to finish behind Manchester City in Group F and progressed to the Round of 16.
He had the world sit up and take note in the very first game, away at Manchester City. The English giants were defeated 2-1 buy Lyon and Ndombele put in a 5-star performances that earned rave reviews.
He would then score his first Champions League goal against TSG Hoffenheim. He would score one more goal, against Hoffenheim again, as Lyon finished second in their group.
