Cameroon vs Ghana Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Ghana will be looking for their first win in this year's Africa Cup of Nations when they face holders Cameroon this weekend in one of the most high-profile ties of the group stages.

The Black Stars have reached at least the last four in each of the last six editions of the tournament, yet they opened their campaign last week with an unconvincing 2-2 draw against Benin.

James Appiah's side will be looking for three important points this weekend but also revenge against a Cameroon side who knocked them out of the 2017 competition in the semi-finals.

The Indomitable Lions are unbeaten in their last matches in the competition, and Ghana are priced at 13/8 (2.6) to inflict their first defeat since 2015. The draw can be backed at 15/8 (2.87) .

Team news

Ghana had defender John Boye sent off for a seemingly harsh second yellow card in the opening game, so he is suspended for his side's second clash in Group F. Hibs midfielder Thomas Agyepong is a doubt after picking up a first half injury against Benin.

Cameroon manager Clarence Seedorf has no injury concerns ahead of the clash.

Preview

The holders struggled to break down lowly Guinea-Bissau last time out, but ultimately managed to find a way through and could have scored more than two goals.

Despite some off-field issues before the tournament involving player bonuses there seems to be more momentum with Cameroon and if they avoid defeat, they will be in a strong position to go through as group winners.

There should be an argument made for getting the holders onside and there will be plenty of interest in the price for them to win.

Tips and predictions

Backing Cameroon to win at 2/1 (3.00) could well be worth some investment, while the price of 97/100 (1.97) for Seedorf's side to win with a +0.0 Asian handicap looks tempting.

This selection sees our stake returned if the game ends as a draw and seems an intelligent way to back Cameroon to continue their strong run of form in the competition.
