Team news

Brazil have doubts over Filipe Luis and Fernandinho, although Richarlison should be available after missing the quarter-final through illness. Gabriel Jesus is likely to start alongside Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho in the front three.

Argentina boast a similarly high-profile forward trident with Lionel Messi set to play just behind Lautaro Martinez and Sergio Aguero.

Brazil have won the Copa America on the four previous occasions they have hosted the tournament, and they are well-placed to continue that 100 per cent record despite suffering a couple of frustrating results this time around.

A goalless draw with Venezuela in their opening group game was followed by a 0-0 stalemate and subsequent penalty shoot-out win over Paraguay in the last eight, and despite boasting a wealth of attacking talent, Brazil can sometimes toil against well-organised sides.

That accusation can also be made of Argentina, yet the major difference between the two sides is their defence, with the Brazilians a fantastically well-drilled unit and Lionel Scaloni's team often looking highly inept at the back.

Tips and predictions

The price for a Brazil win looks appealing, while the hosts are offered at a tempting 37/20 (2.85).

Each of Brazil's last three wins against Argentina have come to nil, and with the five-time World Cup winners yet to concede a goal in their four Copa America matches so far, this could be a solid value selection.

Scaloni's men failed to score when they faced Colombia in the group stages, and have consistently struggled to net against top-class opponents.

In the last CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying tournament they were the second lowest-scoring side after Bolivia and despite the presence of Lionel Messi, there should be plenty of interest in opposing Argentina to score.
