Betting Tips for Today: Lyon and Hoffenheim set for another Champions League goal-fest

Lyon's Champions League clash with Hoffenheim may not have the glamour or appeal of some other group stage matches on Tuesday but it promises plenty of entertainment.

The best bet here though, is to turn to the goals markets. These sides often deliver plenty of attacking intent with much less attention paid to their defensive showing.

That was the case two weeks ago as the pair played out a 3-3 draw in Germany and over 3.5 goals looks the way to go once more at 11/10 (2.10).

Lyon for their part have kept just two clean sheets in their previous 12 matches in all competitions. Given how unpredictable the Ligue 1 side can be, it’s tough to put much confidence in backing them on the match odds market – even against a team yet to register a victory in this competition.

Their 2-1 win over Manchester City on matchday one demonstrates how effective Bruno Genesio's side can be when they hit their stride, but they continue to be plagued by defensive shortcomings.

The same can be said of Hoffenheim who have seen Both Teams to Score land in each of their three Champions League group games so far this term, with those matches containing 13 goals in total.

Goals at both ends is just 7/20 (1.35) here and while that might be part of a multiple, there is plenty more juice in anticipating another shootout between two top-heavy teams at the Groupama Stadium.

With only four points separating the top and bottom teams in Group F, there is little reason to believe this game won't follow a similar pattern to the reverse fixture.

There is still plenty to play for and any one of the three teams trailing the tournament favourites will feel they can snatch second spot. As such, the opportunity to back four or more goals at 11/10 (2.10) with 888Sport looks a worthy selection ahead of a busy evening of European action.
