Betting Special: Rashford 12/1 to score 20 Premier League goals after signing long-term contract

Marcus Rashford is 12/1 (13.0) to score 20 goals next season after signing a new four-year contract at Manchester United on Monday.

The 21-year-old will reportedly earn between £200,000 and £300,000 per week at Old Trafford after committing his future to the club for whom he made his Premier League debut in 2016.

With Romelu Lukaku seemingly set for a move to Serie A, Rashford looks set to become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s main striker next term as United push for a return to Champions League action.

bet365’s Steve Freeth said: “Rashford seemed to have a frustrating time when pushed out wide by the former manager, but this new bumper contract could see him continuing to be Solskjaer’s first choice down the middle.”

That 12/1 (13.0) quote applies to the Premier League strikes only and would represent the striker’s best ever campaign in United colours and beat his previous record of 10 league goals - which he achieved last term. This market can be found by going to "Premier League" then "Outrights".

Indeed, all four of Rashford’s seasons have yielded 10 or fewer goals, albeit he only played 11 times when he broke through in 2015-16, and it is 11/4 (3.75) that he follows suit next time out.

His record of 27 goals in 111 league appearances will hardly inspire punters and neither will the fact that he has been outscored by unassuming Bournemouth striker Josh King in each of his top-flight.

However, he was played out of position in a good portion of those games under Jose Mourinho and the 2/1 (3.0) price on a haul between 11 and 13 goals inclusive could be tempting for backers.

It is 5/2 (3.50) that the England international scores 14-16 times and having scored six times during Solskjaer’s first eight league matches in charge, will hope to hit the ground running once again on his way to an impressive total.

A total of 17-19 strikes is available at 9/2 (5.50) whilst bet365 offer 20/1 (21.0) that Rashford wins the Golden Boot next season – some way behind favourite Harry Kane at 4/1 (5.0).
