Real Madrid v Barcelona Betting: Clasico could be set for more late drama

Clasicos often decide La Liga titles and Sunday's meeting at the Santiago Bernabeu could go a long way to defining the respective seasons of both these clubs.

Victory for the hosts would put Real Madrid six points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand, while a win for Barcelona would send them top and put real pressure on Zinedine Zidane's men with just a handful of matches left.

A draw meanwhile would suit Madrid and the last time these two sides met back in December, Sergio Ramos scored in injury time to salvage a 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou. At the time it felt like a big goal, and it might just be the most important of the captain's 10 strikes across all competitions this season.

While Real Madrid could be missing Gareth Bale, Raphael Varane and Pepe, Barcelona will certainly be without the suspended Neymar and his absence will be a major blow for the visitors.

The Brazilian has been exceptional for the Blaugrana this season, yet suspension means he will miss his first Clasico since joining Barcelona and his replacement is likely to be Paco Alcacer.

Nevertheless, the visitors will surely be able to get on the scoresheet as they have done in each of the last 22 Clasicos, with the last time Barca failed to net against Madrid in La Liga coming back in 2007.

Los Blancos for their part have scored in 55 consecutive games in all competitions, making both teams to score a nailed on selection at 4/11 (1.36). Even if you combine this bet with over 2.5 goals in the game the price only rises slightly to 4/7 (1.57) and it is hard to envisage a match without at least three goals scored.

Perhaps the price of 9/4 (3.25) for both teams to score in the first half could be of interest, with this bet paying out in four of the last nine meetings, although the two most recent Clasicos have been goalless at the break.

Instead, we will back a goal to be scored after 78.59 at 10/11 (1.91) a bet which has proved extremely profitable in this fixture in recent seasons. Indeed, this selection has paid out in eight of the last 11 Clasicos and with Real Madrid in particularly having a fondness for late goals this season, backing one to be scored in the last 11 minutes looks extremely tempting.
