Betting: Can Belgium beat France to the first Nations League crown?

Crowned world champions in 2018, France are well on course to win the first UEFA Nations League titles next summer.

Les Bleus need just a point from their final match against the Netherlands to secure a place in the knockout stages, and are current 5/2 (3.50) favourites with bet365 to go all the way.

Despite their shock 3-2 defeat at home to England last time out, Spain remain France’s closest competitors at 3/1 (4.00) to lift the trophy.

Gareth Southgate’s team are available at 10/1 (11.00) to leapfrog La Roja into first place, although they need a favour from a Croatia team that is still a 66/1 (67.00) long shot to overcome both England and Spain before completing an impressive renaissance with victory in the final.

However, Belgium’s passage to glory is far more straightforward after opening the tournament with two wins from two, placing them level on points with Switzerland at the top of Group A2 having played one game less.

Victory at home to pointless Iceland would allow them to progress to the knockout stages by merely avoiding defeat in 40/1 (41.00) Switzerland, when the price on their multi-talented squad winning the competition would shrink significantly below the generous 7/2 (4.50) currently on offer.
 
Similarly, Portugal need just a single point away in 40/1 (41.00) Italy to qualify for the next round with a match to spare, meaning odds of 6/1 (7.00) could prove a smart outside bet despite Cristiano Ronaldo’s continued international absence.
