Belgium v Mexico Betting: Friendly to see plenty of goals

Our tipster thinks that there could be value in backing goals at both ends when Roberto Martinez's men meet Juan Carlos Osorio's charges in Brussels

Belgium meet Mexico in an international friendly in Brussels on Friday night.

Both of these nations comfortably qualified for World Cup 2016, with Belgium amassing an impressive 28 points from their 10 Group H matches; furthermore, Roberto Martinez’s men scored no fewer than 43 goals during their qualification campaign – a tally that could only be matched on the continent by defending champions, Germany.

Mexico’s unbeaten run in the campaign was ended in their final group game, when Juan Carlos Osorio’s team suffered a 3-2 loss at the hands of Honduras, but the Mexicans had long assured themselves of a place at World Cup 2018 by that stage of the campaign; it was a result that was mourned in the USA, however, for it saw Bruce Arena’s men crash out of the competition.

Both teams will be fully focused on fine-tuning their respective squad ahead of next summer’s showpiece and Belgium will be looking to extend their winning run, for Martinez’s men have won each of their last six matches and the Red Devils can be backed at 23/50 (1.46) with Betsafe to make it a magnificent seven against El Tri.

Osorio’s charges, however, boast an impressive record in non-competitive clashes, for Mexico have been beaten in just one of their last 15 friendly games and Betsafe offer a tempting 111/20 (6.55) that the visitors make their mark with a win in Brussels, while the same firm go 17/5 (4.40) that this match ends in stalemate.

Remarkably, there have been no fewer than 31 goals scored in Belgium’s last six matches on home turf and Betsafe offer 81/100 (1.81) that there are, at least, three goals scored in this game, while the odds compilers go 10/11 (1.91) that there are goals at both ends – that particular play would have seen punters profit from seven of the last 10 matches that Martinez’s men have contested.

With Belgium, at times, brilliant in attack, it is little surprise that Betsafe offer just 14/25 (1.56) that the hosts score more than once in this match, while some punters may be tempted to take a chance on the 9/5 (2.80) quote from the same firm for Martinez’s men to score at least three times against Mexico.

Osorio’s side, though, are capable of testing the hosts and, instead, it is the 10/11 (1.91) quote for both teams to find the net that could offer most appeal; Mexico have managed to find the net in 21 of their last 23 matches and, so, backing both teams to score may well provide punters with a path to profit ahead of Friday’s fixture in Brussels.

Both teams to score at 10/11 (1.91) for a 1pt stake with Betsafe
