Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Real Madrid play their first match of the International Champions Cup in the early hours of Sunday morning when they face Bayern Munich at the NRG Stadium in Houston.

It has been a busy transfer market for Zinedine Zidane, who has brought in a number of new faces and they will be hoping to get their first taste of action as a Los Blancos player this weekend.

Bayern went down 2-1 to Arsenal in their first match of the competition, and the Bundesliga champions find themselves in something of a transition period following the departures of stalwarts Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, Mats Hummels and Rafinha.

bet365 make Zidane's men the favourites at 13/10 (2.30) to win, as they did 1-0 in the only previous meeting between these two sides in this competition back in 2016. Bayern are available at 15/8 (2.87) with the draw at 7/2 (3.50) .

Team news

Real Madrid's Brahim Diaz is unlikely to feature on the North American tour after the former Manchester City teenager picked up a thigh injury in training. Brazilian duo Casemiro and Eder Militao are also missing from the traveling party, having been given time off after the Copa America.

Bayern boss Niko Kovac changed his entire eleven at half-time in the game against Arsenal and we should expect both sides to make plenty of substitutions as the game progresses.

Preview

It may only be a series of pre-season friendlies but Real Madrid actually boast a strong record in the International Champions Cup, having won the tournament on three occasions.

Their matches tend to be relatively entertaining and full of goals at both ends, with their last clean sheet in the competition actually coming against Bayern three years ago.

The German champions, too, have not kept a clean sheet in any of the 11 matches they have contested in the ICC over the last three years, and so backing a game with goals at both ends makes plenty of sense.

Tips and predictions

Both teams to score is offered at 1/2 (1.50) but more appealing is the price of 4/5 (1.80) for both teams to score and over 2.5 goals. This selection has paid out in each of Madrid's last five games in this tournament, and in four of Bayern's last six.
