Barcelona pre-season 2023: Tour, fixtures, results, tickets & how to watch

Barcelona's pre-season this year is, once again, expected to be dominated by transfer talk. Although the Blaugrana have a league title to celebrate, all of the focus is on how they can scale the heights of European and global football again, especially after missing out on Lionel Messi.

Amid a financial situation that hasn't improved much, a move to a smaller stadium while their current one is being renovated, and a squad that will need additions, it could be a pivotal summer in manager Xavi's tenure. Get it right, and Barca could be set up for a new era of success. Get it wrong, and they could fall behind Real Madrid once again.

Here, GOAL has everything you need to know about Barcelona's pre-season tour, including info on how to buy tickets, where to find games, squad details, and more.

The Blaugrana's US pre-season tour was disrupted by a bout of viral gastroenteritis which postponed their clash against Juventus on July 23 in Santa Clara, California, just hours before kick-off. Their rustiness was on full display against last season's runners-up Arsenal. The Gunners, who were deep into their pre-season, beat Xavi's side 5-3 on July 27 at SoFI Stadium in Los Angeles.

However, Xavi's troops bounced back by winning yet another preseason USA-based Clasico against arch-rivals Real Madrid, blanking them 3-0 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys, having also won summer El Clasico contests in 2017 and 2022 on U.S. soil. They wrapped off their pre-season tour of the United States with a narrow 1-0 victory against Champions League semi-finalists AC Milan in Las Vegas on August 2.

But there's more football to be played once they return home as they host Tottenham Hotspur in the annual Joan Gamper match, which will be played on August 8 at the Estadi Olímpic Lluis Companys in Barcelona, with Camp Nou unavailable due to extensive renovations. The busy slate will also see the Blaugrana debut their 2023-24 kits.

Barcelona pre-season 2023 tickets

Tickets for Barca's preseason tour are available on StubHub or the Soccer Champions Tour website.

You can also buy tickets for Barcelona's pre-season fixtures on Ticketmaster.

How to watch & stream Barcelona 2023-24 pre-season tour

Broadcasters for Barcelona's pre-season fixtures have not yet been confirmed. In the past, games have also been made available on Barcelona's in-house media network. However, the club is getting rid of that service on June 30. How, exactly, that impacts the accessibility of pre-season fixtures remains to be seen.

Until then, there is sure to be content on Barca's official YouTube channel. For the audience in the United States, ESPN+ will be the streaming option available.

The game against Arsenal is expected to be available to stream live on the official Arsenal website.

Barcelona 2023-24 pre-season tour squad

The Blaugrana's pre-season squad should feature many of the same faces from last term's La Liga-winning side. And there have been some additions, too. Ilkay Gundogan has joined on a free transfer, while the Blaugrana look all but set to seal the signature of Brazilian star Vitor Roque. Robert Lewandowski, Pedri, Gavi and Ousmane Dembele should be ready to go by the end of July.

Although Roque won't feature in Barcelona's US tour, the Catalan giants will have some new faces in action like Spanish centre-back Inigo Martinez and former La Masia graduate Oriol Romeu. On the flip side, young midfielder Nico Gonzalez has been left out of Barca's squad ahead of a proposed loan move to Porto.

Under the guidance of manager Xavi Hernandez, a total of 32 players would be travelling to the USA in preparation for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
