Arsenal have expanded their global partnership agreement with Japanese video game company Konami.
The deal, which is in its second year, sees Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) continue as the club’s official video game partner.
As part of the expansion of the arrangement with PES 2019, in-game graphics of both the club’s first team players and the Emirates Stadium will benefit from 3D scanning, while former club legends will feature in the game for the first time.
Konami provided a preview of the new aspects of the deal in the build-up to a recent exhibition match between Arsenal Legends and Real Madrid legends.
Vinai Venkatesham, who has become the club’s managing director following chief executive Ivan Gazidis’ departure to AC Milan, said: “We are excited to be offering our fans the opportunity to experience both the players and Emirates Stadium so accurately within the game while also providing the opportunity to call on some legends in our proud history to bring the game to life.”
Jonas Lygaard, senior director brand and business development at Konami Digital Entertainment, added: “Arsenal is one of the biggest and most successful clubs in world football, so we are thrilled to be continuing our partnership with them.”
