Sadio Mane: 2018-19 UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season - Forwards

Liverpool's Sadio Mane was nominated for the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League forward of the year for guiding Liverpool to their sixth title.

In the final against Tottenham, he won the penalty that helped his side open their account in Madrid.

The most notable of his strikes was in Munich as he scored a brace in the 3-1 win over Bayern to power Liverpool into the quarter-finals. He took the game to Manuel Neuer and duped the German custodian to open the scoring in the 26th minute.

Mane also scored a goal and an assist in Porto and played an important part in the assertive 6-1 aggregate win, He also holds the record of scoring the most away goals (8) for a Liverpool player in the Champions League with team-mate Roberto Firmino close on his heels with seven.

In a span of just over two seasons at Liverpool, he has scored 14 Champions League goals and 10 of them in the knockout stage of the tournament. He was on the pitch over the two-legs against FC Barcelona in the semi-finals and was showed brilliant composure in the attacking third at Anfield. 

Sadio Mane deserves his recognition in the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season.
