Vivianne Miedema joins in Arsenal's Champions League celebrations despite shock exit to Man City as Dutch star expresses 'pride' for girlfriend Beth Mead

The Dutch international made a surprise exit from Arsenal last summer, with former manager Jonas Eidevall deeming her surplus to requirements. Even though she is now at Manchester City, the 28-year-old was in Lisbon to see the Gunners win the Champions League on Saturday - where she joined partner Mead for the after party.

Alongside a number of photos and videos of Arsenal's European title celebrations, she wrote on Instagram: "Just a proud (girl)friend," to which Mead replied: "You're the best human ever."

Arsenal pulled off a monumental upset and a stunning victory, their first Champions League title in 18 years, against an all-conquering Barcelona side at the weekend. While Miedema was not part of that group, she helped the Gunners on their journey to this point, and it is clear she holds the north London team in such high esteem.

Now that the club season is over, Miedema can look forward to a busy summer of internationals with the Netherlands as they prepare for more Nations League games and Euro 2025.
