The 22-year-old cut inside one defender and unleashed an unstoppable strike into the top corner from the edge of the box to make it 1-1 in the Liga clash on Saturday at Estadio Coliseum. Greenwood is back playing football following more than a year away from the game after being suspended by United in January 2022 as he was&nbsp;<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/man-utd-s-greenwood-charged-with-attempted-rape/blt23ff8256fe9a3b58">arrested on suspicion of attempted rape, assault, and coercive control.</a> Those charges were dropped in&nbsp;<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/man-utd-mason-greenwood-cleared-all-charges-attempted-rape-assault-case/blt667fec4a13dfc50d">February 2023</a>&nbsp;but United told him&nbsp;to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/man-utd-make-huge-mason-greenwood-u-turn-after-public-backlash/blt4b47569974b519af">seek pastures new to continue his career</a>&nbsp;following the culmination of a lengthy international&nbsp;investigation. The young forward is now beginning to shine on the pitch for Getafe.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

After this match, Greenwood and Getafe take on Las Palmas in La Liga on Friday. As for his future with United, it doesn't seem likely that he'll be brought back into the first-team setup at Old Trafford, with his contract due to expire in 2025, with the option of an additional year.
