Conor Gallagher fired Atletico Madrid to an immediate lead in the second leg of their Champions League tie against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Just 27 seconds had passed before the midfielder slid in to fire beyond Thibaut Courtois after a pass from Rodrigo De Paul found its way through to him in the penalty area. The goal is the fastest ever scored by an English player in Champions League history, according to Opta.

Gallagher's goal brought Atletico level with their city rivals on aggregate. Carlo Ancelotti's team won the first leg 2-1, with Rodrygo and Brahim Diaz cancelling out Julian Alvarez's effort at the Santiago Bernabeu.
